Florian Alt
Florian Alt studied Media Informatics (Diploma) at the University of Munich. During his studies he worked as an intern at the “Klinikum rechts der Isar” (Project Thesis on enhancing operating cycles in a hospital environment using Pervasive Computing Technologies) and at Pinnacle Systems Inc. (now Avid Technologies) in Mountain View, CA as web developer. In summer 2007 he completed his Master Thesis at the Fraunhofer Institute for Intelligent Analysis and Information Systems in Bonn, Germany (Topic: An Annotation Platform for the World Wide Web), his supervisor was Prof. Dr. Albrecht Schmidt. After his studies he worked as an IT specialist for Schreiner MediPharm in New York, helping to setup a manufacturing site for North America. Since spring 2008 he works as a research associate and PhD student at the Chair for Pervasive Computing and User Interface Engineering at the University of Duisburg-Essen. The main focus of his research is on implicit ind explicit interaction with public displays and context-sensitive advertising.
